I don’t understand how IR35 affects me.............
ANSWER Limited companies used purely to provide personal services must consider if they are affected by the Intermediaries Legislation (IR35) before considering how to pay individual employees. I’ve read the IR35 information on the HMRC website and it’s pretty clear that the contract that I am working on currently would be caught by IR35. However, I have been discussing a new contract with my agency which would start next month and that would definitely not be caught by IR35. Can you advise me of the correct amounts to pay in both sets of circumstances and effect the changes once I tell you that I have changed contracts?
ANSWER Yes, this is a quite a common request from contractors. You must initially tell us what you wish us to base our regular calculations upon, in terms of PAYE salary, dividend distribution etc. You can vary these instructions at any time simply by writing to us with your new instructions.
I have a limited company and I have decided that I want to use your accountancy services, but there are some areas of operating a limited company that I am not sure about – where can I get additional advice?
ANSWER There are many extremely informative websites which will vastly increase your general knowledge of a limited company's operation. The 2007 MSC legislation expressly prevents us from directly ‘influencing or controlling' any of your company's activities, consequently you must gain this knowledge independently of Simply Contracting Ltd. However, we will always provide answers for any specific accountancy related questions that you may have.
I don’t have a limited company, but I have decided that is the way that I wish to work in the future. Can you provide one for me?

I don't have a business bank account - can you arrange one of these for me as well?
ANSWER No, we are unable to arrange a business bank account other than to introduce you to representatives of many of the high street banks.
I’ve decided that limited company trading is too difficult for me and will take up too much of my time. What other options are open to me?

I have been involved in self employed contract working for more than 20 years for many different companies in various parts of the world. In this time I have been self employed, limited company, SC 60, and 714 certificated. With all of these ‘systems’ I have had many issues with the problems of invoices, payment, and the very time consuming process of accounting for my wages, tax payments, VAT , expenses etc. Over the years it has caused me a great deal of concern, time and worry that I did not need, especially when I was working away from home.
If I have any questions or any other reasons to contact the office, I have always found the staff very helpful and polite and they have always explained and given answers that even I can understand. It suits me to sit back and have my accountancy service take care of the part of self employment that I do not enjoy.
